The property

The guest house is nestled in the Tuscan hills — gardens, outdoor spaces, and the Casentino valley. The farmhouse where we live is just 50 metres away; the guest house was built in a modern style to offer you every comfort while you take in the timeless beauty of the countryside.

Pool & outdoor living

The pool, the dining area, and the best spots to take in the Tuscan light.

Farm & garden

A working farmstead — fresh eggs from the chickens, produce from the garden, and resident cats who keep everyone company.

The tower & the land

The medieval tower of Porciano Castello rises above the Casentino valley, and the hills stretch to the horizon.

Shared amenities & house rules

What you'll have access to during your stay, and a few things to know before you arrive.

What's included

  • Shared pool — the pool is shared with guests staying in the other studio and with us. Plenty of space, sun loungers, and peaceful views.
  • Outdoor kitchen — much more space than the studio kitchenettes, with the essentials provided and great views into the forest. Perfect for meals al fresco.
  • BBQ — a charcoal grill is available for all guests. Firelighter and tools provided; please bring your own charcoal or ask us.
  • Kitchen basics — each studio has a kitchenette with the essentials for cooking (pots, pans, cutlery, plates, etc.). No oven, but a stovetop and fridge.
  • Free parking — park right on the property.
  • Bed linen & towels — provided and refreshed weekly for longer stays. Pool towels available for longer stays too.

Good to know

  • No pets — as much as we love animals, we cannot allow pets at La Macia. Some guests have allergies, and we have two resident cats who are shy around other animals.
  • Shared spaces — the grounds, pool, outdoor kitchen, and BBQ are shared between both studios and our family. Please be respectful and considerate — clean and quiet.
  • Leave as you found it — please leave shared spaces clean after use, as you found them.
  • Smoking — outside only, please.
  • Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 10:00 — let us know if you need flexibility and we'll do our best.
